Rotary District 9112 Brings Families Together at Rotakids End-of-Year Celebration in Lagos
The Rotakids Committee of Rotary District 9112, in collaboration with the Family of Rotary Committee, hosted a colourful Rotakids End-of-Year Party as part of the Annual Family of Rotary Celebration, bringing children and families together in Lagos for a landmark end-of-year event.
The celebration, held at the Police College, Ikeja GRA, attracted Rotakids, parents and Rotary leaders from across Lagos and Ogun States, underscoring the district’s commitment to grooming children in the values of service, leadership and community responsibility from an early age.
Chairperson of the Rotakids Committee, Rotarian CP Oyebola Adeyanju of the Rotary Club of Dolphin Estate, said the programme reflected Rotary International’s long-standing vision of nurturing future leaders through character building, teamwork and positive social engagement.
She described the children as the future of community leadership, noting that the event was designed to help each child build confidence, creativity and a sense of purpose. Adeyanju also commended parents and families for their vital role in sustaining the Rotakids vision across Rotary District 9112.
The event blended learning with recreation, featuring games, bouncing castles and supervised rides, creating a lively atmosphere of unity, fun and shared joy among participating families.
Speaking at the event, District Governor of Rotary District 9112, Rotarian Lanre Adedoyin, said the Family of Rotary Funfair 2025 highlighted Rotary’s belief in maintaining a healthy balance between service and recreation.
Rotarian Adedoyin explained that Rotary places strong emphasis on family bonding, networking and relaxation, describing the gathering as both enjoyable and impactful for Rotary members and their families. He added that the event strengthened relationships within the Rotary community while providing children with meaningful and engaging experiences.
Members of the organising committee included Rotarian Ronke Akeredolu (Vice Chair), Rotarian CP Enitan Oteju Ibironke (Secretary and member of the Rotary Club of Ikeja Legend), Rotarian Elizabeth Azubike (Protocol), Rotarian Ibijoke Popoola (Club Liaison, Lagos), and Rotarian Marvin Arogundade (Club Liaison, Ogun). The 2025 Rotakids End-of-Year Party was widely regarded as one of Rotary District 9112’s flagship youth-focused programmes, reinforcing the district’s resolve to build a strong pipeline of socially responsible leaders through early engagement and family-centred initiatives.
