The Nigerian Army has recorded another major success in its ongoing nationwide offensive against insurgency, with the elimination of about 47 terrorists in coordinated military operations across several regions of the country.

The Army Headquarters, in a statement posted on its official Facebook page on Tuesday night, disclosed that the operations were conducted within the last 72 hours.

According to the statement, the sustained offensive also led to the arrest of 19 criminal suspects and the rescue of more than 30 kidnapped victims, underscoring the military’s intensified efforts to restore security nationwide.

The Army further revealed that troops recovered a large cache of arms, ammunition and other logistics during the operations, which involved a combination of coordinated ground and air assaults.

Based on credible intelligence, troops carried out aggressive ground operations in parts of the North West and North Central, where several terrorists were neutralised.

The operations were also extended to Zamfara State, Kaduna State, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, and the South-South region, as security forces sustained pressure on criminal and insurgent networks across multiple theatres.

The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the offensive until terrorist groups, bandits and other criminal elements are decisively degraded and communities across the country are secured. Read More
