Afrobeats sensation Ayra Starr has shared her personal list of the top three artists who define the genre, naming Tiwa Savage, Wizkid and Rema as her “solid Big 3.”
Speaking during a recent interview with Hot 97 FM, the singer highlighted the trio’s unique contributions to the global growth of Afrobeats.
According to Starr, Tiwa Savage represents the pioneering female force in the genre, Wizkid symbolizes Afrobeats’ international breakthrough, while Rema stands out for pushing creative boundaries with innovative sounds.
“My Afrobeats Big 3 would be Tiwa Savage, Wizkid and Rema. My solid Big 3,” she said.
Her selection has sparked conversation among fans and industry watchers, as it notably leaves out Davido and Burna Boy—two global stars frequently mentioned alongside Wizkid in discussions about the traditional Afrobeats “Big 3.”
