Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has reconciled with her former husband, Opeyemi Falegan, four years after their highly publicised and bitter separation.
The reconciliation reportedly took place during a TikTok live session on Saturday night, where the former couple revisited the circumstances surrounding their controversial breakup and addressed the lingering issues between them.
During the conversation, Nkechi insisted that Falegan must publicly apologise for some of the damaging comments he made about her during their relationship crisis, explaining that the remarks continued to fuel online attacks against her years after their separation.
The actress disclosed that discussions about settling their differences had been ongoing since February 2026, but maintained that an apology was necessary before they could move forward.
“I told you in February that if we must do this, you have to apologise to me because what you said years ago, some irrelevant nitwits still used it to insult me yesterday. That is to tell you that the internet never forgets,” she said.
Although Nkechi acknowledged that both parties contributed to the breakdown of their relationship, Falegan, a United States-based army officer, apologised to the actress for speaking negatively about her during their public fallout.
“From the bottom of my heart to the depth of my soul, I’m sorry, Nkechi. That’s in the past,” he said.
The former couple’s relationship collapsed in April 2022 after they engaged in a heated exchange of accusations on social media, attracting widespread attention.
The controversy resurfaced in September 2022 when Nkechi, during an appearance on the television programme Your View, claimed that she entered into a relationship with Falegan to get back at her former partner.
Reacting to the interview, Falegan accused the actress of dating him for his money and sex, further deepening their public disagreement.
He also ruled out the possibility of rekindling their relationship at the time, declaring: “Once I have a reason to go, I will never find an excuse to come back.”
Their latest reconciliation marks a notable turnaround in a relationship that was once characterised by public accusations, social media exchanges and declarations that they would never get back together.
