Easter: Sanwo-Olu Urges Unity, Love as He Praises Tinubu’s Reforms

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has extended Easter greetings to Nigerians, particularly Christians and residents of Lagos, calling for renewed commitment to love, unity, and sacrifice.

Speaking during an interview with journalists at Lagos House, Marina, the governor encouraged citizens to reflect on the teachings of Jesus Christ, emphasizing values such as compassion, charity, and peaceful coexistence.

He commended Christian faithful for their dedication throughout the Lenten season, urging them to carry forward the lessons of fasting, self-denial, and spiritual reflection into their everyday lives.

“As we come to the end of the Lenten season, it is my hope that the lessons learnt during this period will be reflected in our daily lives,” he said.

Sanwo-Olu noted that the Easter celebration, coming on the heels of Ramadan, highlights the importance of religious harmony, gratitude, and national unity. He called on Nigerians to look out for one another and contribute to building a more inclusive and peaceful society.

The governor also advised residents to celebrate responsibly, stressing the importance of maintaining safety and security during the festive period.

On national matters, Sanwo-Olu commended President Bola Tinubu for his administration’s economic reforms, noting signs of progress in the financial sector, capital market growth, and relative stability in key indicators such as inflation and food prices.

While acknowledging ongoing security challenges in parts of the country, particularly in Plateau State, he expressed sympathy for affected families and reiterated confidence in the Federal Government’s efforts to restore peace and stability.

He urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and continue supporting initiatives aimed at national development.
