Senator Ned Munir Nwoko, who represents Delta North Senatorial District, has officially declared his intention to seek re-election to the National Assembly, reaffirming his commitment to sustained representation and development in the region.

The lawmaker made this known on Friday while addressing journalists at the Asaba International Airport upon his arrival in Asaba, where he received a rousing welcome from supporters.

Nwoko was accompanied by former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, as both men were greeted by a large crowd in what the senator described as a reflection of his strong connection with the people.

“The people know me, and I know them. I understand their needs and I am committed to solving their problems,” he stated, highlighting his legislative efforts as being rooted in addressing the socio-economic concerns of his constituents.

The senator also pledged political support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing confidence in the administration’s reform agenda and leadership direction.

In the education sector, Nwoko revealed plans to upgrade the Federal College of Education, Asaba, into a full-fledged federal university. He described the proposal as a strategic move to expand access to higher education and accelerate development in Delta North.

On the long-standing agitation for the creation of Anioma State, the senator aligned himself with Senate President Godswill Akpabio, noting that Akpabio’s position reflects the official stance on the matter.

He urged constituents to remain committed to progressive governance, warning against a return to what he termed “old politics,” while emphasizing the need for continuity and collective development.
