Femi Salawu, a seasoned media practitioner and Lagos State University graduate, has been elevated to the position of Vice President (Influence and Reputation) at The Temple Company.
The announcement was made during the firm’s 10th anniversary celebration, where the company also unveiled a major leadership restructuring.
Salawu, a former entertainment reporter with The Sun and The Nation newspapers, previously served as Editor of Entertainment Express. He also worked closely with Femi Adesina, providing media support during his tenure as Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to former President Muhammadu Buhari for eight years.
A pioneer member of The Temple Company, Salawu steps into the new role from his previous position as Head of Public Affairs, marking a significant milestone in his career within the organisation.
The restructuring follows the resignation of the company’s founder and Group Chief Executive Officer, Idris Olorunnimbe, after his recent appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
In the new leadership arrangement, Terfa Tilley-Gyado, formerly an Executive Director, has been appointed President of The Temple Company Group.
Other executives elevated in the reorganisation include Yemisi Falaye (Vice President, Legal and Learning), Kolawole Fashola (Vice President, Operations and Tech), Adedamilola Adedotun (Vice President, Ventures and Sports), and Oladoyin Bakare (Vice President, People and Partnerships).
Speaking on the company’s new direction, Tilley-Gyado praised the outgoing founder for establishing a strong foundation and expressed confidence in the leadership team’s ability to drive the company forward.
“We commend our visionary founder for laying the building blocks that will help me and my team propel this organisation to the next level. Our partners can be assured of a renewed commitment to push the boundaries of African excellence through the creative industry,” he said.
Founded in 2016, The Temple Company has grown from a talent management outfit into a multi-dimensional creative powerhouse with operations extending beyond Nigeria. Its expansion includes ventures such as Ogidi Studios, TMPL Motion Pictures, and H&T Agency, reinforcing its position in Africa’s evolving creative ecosystem.
