Chaos Erupts at Ado-Odo Monarch’s 2nd Coronation Anniversary as K1 Ends Performance Abruptly

The second coronation anniversary celebration of the revered Ado-Odo monarch, Olusola Idris Adebowale Lamidi-Osolo Otenibotemole II, ended in unexpected chaos on Saturday after a dramatic stage invasion disrupted what was initially a colourful and highly anticipated royal event in Ado-Odo, Ogun State.

The celebration, which was designed to honour the young Awori monarch and attract dignitaries from across the country, had begun on a festive note, drawing an unusually large crowd described by attendees as unprecedented in the history of events held in the ancient Awori town within Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area.

However, the atmosphere reportedly shifted when unidentified individuals stormed the stage during a live performance by Fuji music icon Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 the Ultimate, sparking confusion and tension among guests.

Eyewitnesses told newsheadline247 that the celebrated musician had been delivering an energetic performance when the disruption occurred. According to one attendee, “K1 was at his best, the crowd was excited, and everything was going smoothly until some individuals suddenly climbed the stage and refused to step down.”

The source further explained that the Fuji star attempted to manage the situation calmly, reportedly appealing to the individuals to step down for safety reasons. “He told them the stage might not withstand excess pressure and that it was unsafe for too many people to remain on it,” the eyewitness added.

Despite his appeals, the individuals allegedly refused to leave, escalating tensions that quickly spilt into a wider confrontation among sections of the crowd. What began as a disagreement reportedly degenerated into a scuffle involving other guests who were keen on preserving the orderliness of the royal celebration.

Another eyewitness described the scene as “completely uncontrollable,” noting that the disturbance forced the Fuji maestro and his band to abruptly end their performance and exit the stage to avoid further escalation.

“It turned into a serious fracas, and in the middle of the confusion, K1 and his band quietly left the stage. He didn’t want to be dragged into the chaos,” the source said.

The coronation anniversary, which had attracted praise for the monarch’s growing popularity and the massive turnout it generated, was widely expected to be a landmark celebration for the Ado-Odo kingdom. Many residents described the event as a reflection of the strong support the traditional ruler enjoys across Awori land.

Despite the disruption, the monarch, widely respected for his leadership style and connection with his people, remains a unifying figure in the community. His supporters had earlier hailed the celebration as a historic moment intended to showcase the cultural pride and unity of Ado-Odo.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official statement from the palace or event organisers regarding the cause of the security breach or the circumstances that led to the abrupt end of the musical performance.

The incident has, however, left lingering conversations among attendees, many of whom expressed disappointment that what was meant to be a grand royal celebration ended in disorder and an untimely shutdown of one of the day’s biggest performances.
