Kudirat Abiodun Balogun has emerged as the deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 Ogun State governorship election, placing one of Nigeria’s most accomplished corporate executives at the centre of the state’s political landscape ahead of the crucial poll.
Balogun joins the APC ticket alongside Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, who secured the party’s governorship ticket through a consensus arrangement ratified during a routine primary election.

A respected finance professional with more than three decades of experience spanning multiple sectors, Balogun currently serves as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director, Finance and Information Technology, at Rite Foods Limited. She has been widely recognised for her contributions to the growth, transformation and expansion of the indigenous manufacturing giant, helping position the company as one of Nigeria’s leading consumer goods brands.

Balogun earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of Lagos before obtaining a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from Bayes Business School, London. She is also a Fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), United Kingdom, reflecting her standing within the global accounting and finance profession.
