The Ambassador-Designate to South Africa, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has congratulated the Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, on his 64th birthday, describing him as a loyal friend, committed public servant and a man of exceptional character.
In a heartfelt birthday tribute, the former Minister of Aviation praised Gbajabiamila for his contributions to national development and his years of dedicated service in public office.
Fani-Kayode described the former Speaker of the House of Representatives as “a profoundly good man,” reflecting on their friendship spanning over five decades. He recalled growing up together in Lagos and maintaining a close bond through different stages of life and politics.
According to him, Gbajabiamila has consistently demonstrated loyalty, sincerity and unwavering commitment to those around him, noting that he has never disappointed his longtime friends.
The former minister also reminisced about their early political experiences in the 1990s, Gbajabiamila’s return to Nigeria from the United States in 2004, his election into the House of Representatives and his steadfast loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from the pro-democracy era through Tinubu’s emergence as President.
Fani-Kayode further recalled predicting years ago that Gbajabiamila would one day become Speaker of the House of Representatives, a prophecy he said eventually came to pass.
He praised the Chief of Staff’s compassion, courage and willingness to speak the truth, describing him as a leader with a kind heart beneath his often stern public appearance.
“You are a profoundly good man, Femi. You have done a great job in public office and in service to our country over the years,” Fani-Kayode said.
Expressing gratitude for their enduring friendship, he prayed for God’s continued blessings upon Gbajabiamila, wishing him many more years of peace, good health, prosperity and impactful service to Nigeria.
He concluded by affirming that the Chief of Staff remains admired and appreciated by many, expressing confidence that even greater accomplishments lie ahead for him.
