The Kegbo of the Atikori Kingdom in Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State, Oba ttyIbitoye Solaja, has called on indigenes of the kingdom both at home and in the diaspora to unite and contribute meaningfully to the development of the community.

The monarch made the appeal during an interview at his palace ahead of activities marking his 25th coronation anniversary, scheduled for December.

Oba Solaja said the growth and progress of the Atikori Kingdom depend on the collective commitment of its people, noting that the community has produced accomplished professionals across various sectors.

According to him, Atikori has produced vice-chancellors, professors, medical doctors, engineers, architects, entrepreneurs and writers whose expertise, influence and resources should be harnessed for the kingdom’s development.

He described Atikori as a pace-setting community in Ijebu-Igbo, urging its sons and daughters to preserve that legacy through unity, vision and selfless service.

The monarch also appealed to the Ogun State and Federal Governments to invest more in infrastructure and public facilities within the kingdom.

He noted that the community hosts major institutions, including Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic and the Nigerian Correctional Service Academy, making it deserving of increased government attention and development.

Oba Solaja said improved infrastructure would strengthen the kingdom’s educational and economic potential while enhancing the welfare of residents.

The traditional ruler expressed gratitude to God for preserving him throughout his 25 years on the throne and prayed for continued peace, unity and development in the kingdom.

He disclosed that activities lined up for the silver jubilee celebration include the inauguration of community projects, installation of chiefs, a praise concert and a thanksgiving service.

Oba Solaja also invited indigenes, friends of the kingdom and well-wishers to participate in the anniversary celebrations.
