President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Babatunde Kwame Ogala, on his 65th birthday, describing him as an outstanding legal practitioner and committed patriot whose career has been defined by integrity, professionalism, and selfless service to Nigeria.
In a goodwill message released on Tuesday, the President applauded Ogala’s enduring contributions to the nation’s democratic development and the growth of the All Progressives Congress (APC), noting his significant role in strengthening the party’s legal structure over the years.
Tinubu commended the senior lawyer for providing strategic legal guidance that proved crucial in defending the APC’s victory in the 2023 presidential election.
Ogala previously served as the APC’s Head of Legal and later as Vice Chairman of the Legal Directorate of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council. He also coordinated the legal team that represented President Tinubu from the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal to the Supreme Court.
According to the President, Ogala’s commitment to justice and constitutional democracy helped reinforce the legal foundation of the APC’s electoral success while promoting confidence in Nigeria’s democratic process.
“The President notes that Ogala’s exceptional legal expertise, strategic counsel and unwavering commitment to justice played a significant role in strengthening the legal foundation of APC’s successful 2023 presidential campaign and upholding the integrity of Nigeria’s democratic process,” the statement read.
Beyond politics, Tinubu also acknowledged Ogala’s contributions to higher education as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Lagos State University (LASU), where he has championed institutional development, academic excellence, and effective governance.
The President said Ogala’s achievements at the Bar and within the ruling party continue to inspire young lawyers and emerging political leaders to combine professional excellence with public service.
Offering prayers for the celebrant, Tinubu wished him continued wisdom, sound health, and many more years of service to the ideals of justice and good governance.
