Afrobeats superstar Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has reunited with Colombian music icon Shakira during rehearsals ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final halftime show at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, United States.

Burna Boy shared a video of the reunion on his X account, showing the two global stars warmly embracing and smiling as they prepared for Sunday’s highly anticipated performance.

Captioning the clip, the Grammy-winning Nigerian singer wrote: “Sunday Prep! @shakira See you at the @FIFAWorldCup Final! Dai dai, ikó, dale, allez, let’s go ❤️‍🔥⚽️! 🇳🇬”

The footage also captured Burna Boy and Shakira exchanging hugs outside the production trailers at the stadium before returning to rehearsals.

The duo is set to perform Dai Dai, the official anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, during FIFA’s inaugural Super Bowl-style halftime show. They previously delivered the song together at the tournament’s opening ceremony in Mexico City.

To accommodate the entertainment spectacle, FIFA has extended the traditional halftime break to approximately 30 minutes. The interval will feature the usual match analysis, followed by an 11-minute musical performance headlined by Burna Boy and Shakira.

The star-studded halftime lineup will also feature performances by BTS, Madonna, Justin Bieber, acclaimed conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the PS22 Chorus alongside Coldplay, while beloved characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets are expected to make special appearances.

According to FIFA, the groundbreaking halftime show will also promote global education initiatives aimed at supporting children worldwide.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup final will see defending champions Argentina take on Spain on Sunday at MetLife Stadium, with millions of fans expected to tune in for both the football showdown and the historic halftime entertainment.
