Hon. Lawal Adewale Wasiu, FCA: A Leader Of Principle, Discipline, And Due Process
Having worked closely with Hon. Lawal Adewale Wasiu, FCA, as his Personal Assistant for almost two years, I have had the rare privilege of seeing the man behind the office. Beyond the public perception is a leader whose decisions are guided by principle, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to due process.
Many people misunderstand his leadership style. Some see him as harsh, strict, or difficult to approach. However, my experience has shown that this perception is far from the truth. He is accommodating, fair, and willing to listen, but he believes that every process must be followed correctly. He values order over shortcuts and integrity over convenience.
Coming from a strong private-sector background, Hon. Lawal brought into public service a culture of professionalism, accountability, and excellence. He understands that lasting development cannot be achieved through sentiment or disorder. Instead, he insists on doing things the right way, knowing that proper procedures produce sustainable results.
Working with him has taught me that true leadership is not about pleasing everyone; it is about making decisions that serve the greater good, even when they are unpopular. Every action he takes is driven by his desire to improve the lives of the people and to build institutions that will outlive his administration.
I have watched him dedicate himself to the welfare of the masses, carefully weighing decisions and remaining committed to transparency and responsible governance. His vision is not limited to today; he is focused on creating a better future through disciplined leadership.
If leaders with his character, competence, and commitment are given greater opportunities to serve, I strongly believe they can help correct many of the systemic challenges facing our nation. Nigeria needs leaders who value integrity, respect due process, and place the interests of the people above personal gain.
Hon. Lawal Adewale Wasiu, FCA, is one of such leaders. My time working with him has strengthened my belief that principled leadership remains the foundation of meaningful and lasting development.
