Davido Breaks Silence on Osogbo Palace Shooting, Denies Link to Attack
Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has denied any connection to the shooting incident outside the palace of the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji, in Osun State.
The incident occurred on Wednesday shortly after Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is Davido’s uncle, visited the monarch.
Suspected hoodlums reportedly attacked the governor’s convoy, leading to an exchange of gunfire with security personnel. The shooting was said to have lasted between 12 and 15 minutes.
Amid reactions to the incident, Davido took to his official X account to distance himself and the governor from the clash.
“It was a fight outside the palace that had nothing to do with us! The pple love excellency!” he wrote.
The incident has since drawn attention in Osogbo, with details surrounding the clash and the identities of those involved yet to be fully established.
