The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed reports that it has withdrawn the recently released list of its 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, describing the claim as a rumour.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, made the clarification on Tuesday, stressing that any changes to the campaign council would be officially communicated by the party.
Morka, in a statement to TheCable, said there was no basis for reports suggesting that the APC had withdrawn the list.
“It’s rumour. If there is any change to the list, it will be formally announced,” he said.
The clarification followed reports claiming that the ruling party had withdrawn the composition of its Presidential Campaign Council amid preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The APC had recently unveiled the campaign council as part of its preparations for President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term in office.
The composition of the council sparked reactions within the party and among political stakeholders, particularly over the inclusion and exclusion of some prominent figures.
The reactions subsequently fueled speculation that the party could make changes to the campaign structure.
However, the APC has now maintained that the list remains in place unless any adjustment is formally announced.
