A man who identified himself as the uncle of popular gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, better known as ToluwaniSings, has called for a thorough and unbiased investigation into the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death.

Lawal Ademola made the appeal in an interview with Dunmininu Kingdom, shared on Facebook on Monday. He urged government officials, community leaders, and law enforcement agencies to ensure the probe is conducted fairly, without victimisation or attempts to shield anyone from scrutiny.

“Please help us, our elders, as we seek a proper investigation into the death of Sodiq. You who are the government, our leaders, and the law, please enforce the law and empower the investigation so that there won’t be biased judgments or victimisation. Nobody should interfere or try to cover things up regarding Sodiq, because this has deeply affected us,” Ademola said.

In a separate video, Ademola described visiting ToluwaniSings’ residence, where he found some family members watching television upon his arrival. He also detailed a disagreement over the singer’s burial arrangements. Ademola said he wanted the body interred at the house where ToluwaniSings lived with his wife and children. The widow reportedly opposed the idea, saying she could not bear seeing her husband’s corpse at the home daily, especially with the children present.

The disagreement continued when other relatives suggested burying him in Ikirun. The wife also rejected that proposal, describing the location as too far.

Ademola referred to the late singer by his birth name, Sodiq, noting that he was given the name in his Muslim family.

PUNCH Online earlier reported that the family confirmed ToluwaniSings’ death on October 14, 2026, and that he was allegedly taken to eight hospitals before he died.
