Lagos socialite Afolabi Kazeem, popularly known as KC Luxury, has dragged the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) before the Federal High Court, demanding N190 million in damages over his arrest and continued detention.
The socialite is also asking the court to order his release or grant him bail pending the determination of his legal challenge to his detention by the anti-drug agency.
KC Luxury was arrested by NDLEA operatives at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on August 13, 2026, while he was reportedly preparing to board a flight to Paris.
His arrest came after the NDLEA announced the seizure of 184.5 kilogrammes of cocaine linked to a courier company in Lagos.
Following the arrest, NDLEA Chairman described KC Luxury as an alleged cartel leader and claimed that he had intended to leave the country.
The NDLEA chairman said, “This cartel leader did not walk into our custody voluntarily; he intended to flee the country on a business-class flight to Paris.”
However, KC Luxury has now challenged the circumstances surrounding his arrest and continued detention in court.
In the suit, he is seeking N190 million in damages from the NDLEA, while also asking the Federal High Court to secure his release or grant him bail.
The legal action comes amid the ongoing investigation into the cocaine seizure and the socialite’s alleged connection to the consignment.
The court is expected to consider the arguments from both sides before determining KC Luxury’s bail application and other reliefs sought in the suit.
