Suspected political thugs attacked and vandalised the secretariat of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-Kehinde Olaosebikan Grassroots Movement (PBAT-KO Movement) in Ibadan on Monday.
The office, located at the CICU Building on Olomi-Olojuoro Road in Oluyole Local Government Area, is described by its operators as the only visible campaign base for President Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid in the council area. Attackers destroyed campaign banners, boards and other materials, and shattered the windows of the building.
Members of the movement discovered the damage when they visited the premises after the incident. A physical assessment confirmed the destruction of campaign property.
The PBAT-KO Movement was founded late last year by Kehinde Olaosebikan, a former chairman of Oluyole Local Government. Olaosebikan previously served on the Media and Publicity Committee of the Tinubu/Shettima APC Presidential Campaign Council in Oyo State during the 2023 elections. The group focuses on grassroots mobilisation aimed at building on the votes President Tinubu secured in the area in 2023.
Speaking to journalists at the scene, the movement’s Publicity Secretary, Comrade Femi Omolola, said the attack would not deter their efforts.
“We are undaunted. We are totally committed. Nothing can stop us from giving our very best in support of the President,” Omolola stated. He added that the convener, Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan, and his supporters remain determined to significantly increase the president’s votes in the next election.
Omolola described President Tinubu as the most suitable candidate to lead Nigeria, praising the foundation laid in the past three years and highlighting the strength of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He expressed confidence that the president would defeat his opponents in the January 16, 2027 election.
The movement attributed the attack to hoodlums suspected to be agents of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM). No formal response from APM was available at the time of filing this report.
