Power Greed! Alimosho Wait to Scuttle Gov. Aregbesola’s Senatorial Ambition

Strong indications have emerged that the Osun state governor may emerge as the next Lagos West senatorial candidate. This is because of recent developments in the political setting of Lagos West, a senatorial district which is widely believed to be under Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola’s firm control.

While some see the Osun governor’s  intention to come back for the senatorial position of  Nigeria’s biggest senatorial district as ‘political gluttony’, his die hard supporters maintain he deserve to be rewarded for building a strong political structure in the zone.

Rauf Aregbesola wants more power

It was gathered that strong oppositions are on ground to dampen his comeback for the Lagos West senator’s seat. According to information made available, there are strong political gladiators in the zone’s All Peoples’ Congress (APC) who are ready to test their political strength against the Osun governor.

The present occupier of the position, Senator Solomon Adeola Olamilekan will be vacating the position as he is poised to battle for the governorship seat of Ogun State come 2019.

Newsheadline247 understands two notable aspirants have set aside their ambition for Aregbesola’s proposed aspiration to go to the Senate. But further digs indicates some political gladiators in Alimosho are ready to fight to the end claiming the Osun governor is too ‘greedy for power’.

Information made available also reveals that some aspirants  relinquished their senatorial ambition in the district because political calculations indicates the Osun governor remains the only fearsome politician who can effortlessly deliver the senatorial district, the biggest in the country.

Aside the battle the Alimosho political generalissimo will face within his Party, APC, it was also gathered that main opposition, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) are said to be working tirelessly undergrounds to claim the Lagos West Senatorial seat which was believed to have been narrowly lost to APC in the 2015 general elections.

“But Osun governor won’t have a free ride after all because others who are eyeing the Senate from Lagos West are not ready to drop their ambitions”, our source informed.
