Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency: A Call For Purposeful Representation | By Lateef Kehinde Saaka
Leadership is not about occupying a position; it is about using that position to create opportunities, solve problems and improve the lives of the people. This is why, as we approach another election cycle, the people of Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency must take a careful look at the quality and direction of the representation they desire.
For too long, our political choices have often been influenced by familiarity, party loyalty and personalities. While these factors may matter, they should never be placed above the collective interests and future of our people.
The real questions we should be asking are simple: What has our constituency gained? What opportunities have been created for our youths? How much support has reached our traders, entrepreneurs and communities? And what kind of representation will position Ado-Odo/Ota for greater development in the years ahead?
Our young people need more than political promises. They need access to skills, employment opportunities, entrepreneurship support and meaningful federal programmes. Our market women and small business owners need interventions that can strengthen their businesses. Our communities need effective advocacy for infrastructure and development. Above all, our people deserve a representative who understands that public office is a responsibility to the people, not merely a political privilege.
This is why the emergence of Engr. Temitayo Agemo-Okuboyejo, the PDP candidate for Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency, presents an opportunity for the electorate to consider a different approach to representation.
The choice before us should not simply be about who has been there before. It should be about who can bring fresh energy, new ideas and purposeful advocacy to the National Assembly.
We must be willing to examine our political decisions honestly. If a particular approach has not delivered the desired transformation, there is nothing wrong with considering another direction. Progress requires the courage to reassess our choices and embrace possibilities that can serve the broader interest of the people.
Ado-Odo/Ota is a constituency with enormous human and economic potential. What we need is representation that can effectively connect our people to opportunities at the federal level and consistently speak for their interests.
As 2027 approaches, let us therefore place the interest of Ado-Odo/Ota above political sentiments. Let us look beyond familiar faces and consider the competence, vision, capacity and commitment required to move our constituency forward.
2027 is not merely another election. It is another opportunity to decide the direction of our constituency.
Let us think differently.
Let us examine our choices carefully.
Let us put the people first.
Engr. Temitayo Agemo-Okuboyejo — PDP, Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency.
A better representation begins with a better choice.
