Rep Akinosi Highlights Three Years of Impact, Says More Development Coming for Ado-Odo/Ota

Hon. (Engr.) Tunji Akinosi, the member representing Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has highlighted what he described as three years of purposeful leadership, legislative advocacy and grassroots development, saying his representation remains committed to delivering greater dividends of democracy to constituents.

Akinosi, in a statement addressed to residents of the constituency, reflected on his stewardship since assuming office in 2023, outlining achievements across education, infrastructure, healthcare, economic empowerment, agriculture and youth development.

According to the lawmaker, his primary objective has been to ensure effective representation and tangible improvements in the lives of the people of Ado-Odo/Ota through strategic interventions and sustained engagement with constituents.

“It has been both an honour and a privilege to serve as your representative in the House of Representatives since 2023,” Akinosi said. “From the very beginning, I made a commitment to provide purposeful leadership, effective representation, and tangible development that would positively impact the lives of our people across Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency.”

The federal lawmaker said he had championed several legislative initiatives at the National Assembly aimed at improving healthcare delivery, education and economic growth. Among the bills he highlighted are proposals seeking the establishment of a Federal Medical Centre in Atan-Ota, a Federal University of Technology in Atan-Ota and the Tertiary Hospital Development Tax Fund.

He described the initiatives as critical interventions designed to expand access to quality healthcare, create more educational opportunities for young people and strengthen support for key national institutions.

Akinosi also pointed to significant investments in education, revealing that approximately ₦700 million was committed in 2025 to the renovation, rehabilitation and upgrading of public schools across the constituency.

“Education remains one of the most powerful tools for societal transformation,” he stated, adding that the intervention was intended to provide safer and more conducive learning environments for students.

On infrastructure, the lawmaker said his office facilitated road construction and rehabilitation projects, solar-powered streetlight installations and continuous engagement with relevant federal authorities to improve major roads serving communities within the constituency.

He noted that the projects were aimed at improving transportation, enhancing security and stimulating economic activities.

Akinosi further disclosed that more than 20,000 constituents had benefited from direct financial support ranging between ₦50,000 and ₦100,000, while thousands of others received vocational tools and equipment to establish or expand businesses.

“Economic empowerment remains close to my heart because I understand the challenges faced by many families and small business owners,” he said.

The lawmaker added that resources had also been deployed to support farmers and agricultural initiatives targeted at increasing food production, improving productivity and strengthening food security in rural communities.

Highlighting youth-focused interventions, Akinosi said his administration had continued to encourage young people to participate actively in leadership, innovation and community development through various programmes and stakeholder engagements.

He also underscored the importance of maintaining close contact with constituents through regular town hall meetings, stakeholders’ forums and community consultations.

“One of the principles that has guided my service is accessibility,” Akinosi said. “I firmly believe that effective representation is built on listening, accountability, and partnership with the people.”

Expressing appreciation to residents for their support and confidence in his leadership, the lawmaker pledged to consolidate on existing achievements and pursue further development initiatives across the constituency.

“As I reflect on the progress we have made together over the last three years, I remain grateful for your trust, support and encouragement,” he said. “While much has been achieved, there is still more work to be done. I remain committed to building on these gains and ensuring that Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency continues on the path of sustainable growth, development and prosperity.”

He added: “Together, we will continue to move our constituency forward.”
