The Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo III, has appointed popular music promoter, Chief Aremu Bamgboye as the new Oluwo of Ijejaland.
At the brief ceremony held at the Ijeja Town Hall amid COVID-19 protocols, the Alake represented by Chief Solomon Atanda Odesola, the Oluwo of Igbehin, Oluwo Agbonyin said the installation of the new Oluwo is at the instance of the Alake of Egbaland.
In his words, “What is happening in Ijeja today is that baba Alake asked us to appoint him as the Oluwo of Ijeja”
“It is the Alake’s order that we should install Ajiki as Oluwo of Ijeja land, so he is the authentic Oluwo”
The new Oluwo while addressing newsmen after his installation, ask for the cooperate of Ijeja sons and daughters both home and abroad for the uplifting of the status of Ijeja.

“I am really happy today, I cannot express all my happiness in one word. I was happy when Alake approved that I should be the Oluwo of Ijejaland so this is just a beginning we are still going to do bigger celebration”
“My message to my people is to come and support me, I can not do it alone, I need their support, both home and abroad should come home to support me in bringing changes in this city”
He, however, use the opportunity to ask those in the opposition to come together and forge a United front in bringing the desired change and development in Ijeja land.
” I am seeking for the support of those who are not in support to come and join me, I know not everybody is happy today, but those who are not to settle with me and let’s work together”
