The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Benue South congress ended disastrously as no fewer than six persons were feared killed and several others injured after fight broke out during the meeting in Otukpo on Friday.
Newsheadline247 understands that during the meeting, fight broke out between some boys believed to be loyal to the current chairman of the party in the state and a senatorial aspirant, leading to the death six persons, including one Pastor Sam and several other persons badly injured.
Eyewitness stated Sabon Gari area of Otukpo is currently on fire as the time of filing this report.
Speaking on the development, the Otukpo Divisional Police Officer, Mr Obo Ukam Obo, said the police were aware of the meeting scheduled for Double K Resort and were shocked that some persons decided to ferment trouble.
Mr. Obo said the Division had commenced investigation and that those found wanting will be apprehended and prosecuted.
