Female members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ireland have unveiled plans to mobilise voters across Nigeria in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the next presidential election.
Operating under the Renewed Hope Women’s Network (RHWN), the group said it would drive the campaign through an initiative titled “Inclusive Grassroots Development and Political Participation,” aimed at increasing voter engagement nationwide.
The convener of the network, Joyce Viyanto Antonza Ibrahim, disclosed the plan during a press conference in Abuja over the weekend.
She expressed concern over growing voter apathy observed during recent off-season elections, noting that the initiative is designed to reverse the trend through grassroots sensitisation and empowerment programmes.
According to Ibrahim, the campaign will focus heavily on engaging women and youths of voting age, with ongoing outreach already targeting communities across the country.
“We sensitise them on the importance of participating in elections and promote the Renewed Hope mandate. We will reach out to grassroots voters to ensure strong support for the President,” she said.
While declining to set a specific vote target, Ibrahim expressed confidence in the network’s capacity to deliver strong backing for Tinubu, particularly through coordinated efforts across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
She added that the initiative draws from her experience in the diaspora, combining international exposure with local grassroots mobilisation to strengthen political participation.
Ibrahim also noted that the programme aligns with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which emphasises inclusive governance and citizen engagement.
She commended the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, for her continued advocacy for women’s empowerment, describing it as a source of inspiration for the movement.
The group plans to implement the initiative across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with a focus on expanding voter participation and consolidating support ahead of the elections.
