Lagos State Deputy Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant for the 2027 elections, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, marked his 62nd birthday on Saturday with a heartfelt pledge to remain committed to the development of Lagos State.
In a statement released on social media, Hamzat expressed profound gratitude to Almighty Allah for His blessings, guidance, protection, and good health throughout his life.
He specifically thanked his wife, Oluremi, for her unwavering support, encouragement, and for preserving the sanctity of their home. “To my dear wife Oluremi, I say thank you for holding my hands, cheering me on, and supporting me,” he said. “The journey ahead is long and might be challenging, but continue to keep the faith.”
Hamzat also appreciated his children for their understanding of his dedication to public service, noting that he was “built and made for service.” He further extended gratitude to his extended family, friends, associates, and the people of Lagos for their confidence and continuous support.
Reflecting on his personal journey, the deputy governor described every stage of his life as a valuable learning experience that has deepened his commitment to the people he serves. “Every chapter of my life has been a learning curve, and every day I wake up with a renewed zeal for commitment to the people I serve,” he stated.
Looking ahead, Hamzat declared that at 62, he is approaching the future with renewed purpose. “I look ahead with renewed purpose, knowing that there is still much to do and an even greater Lagos to build,” he said, adding: “The journey continues and I am ready for the work ahead.”
