Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has expressed sadness over the bomb blast at Abachari area of Damboa L.G.A. of Borno State.
It was reported that no fewer than 20 persons were killed and 48 others injured on Sunday in a massive explosion in Damboa.
The Borno State Police Command confirmed the blast.
The police also informed that the personnel of the Nigeria police and members of the civilian Joint Task Force swiftly responded at the sound of the explosion and discovered twenty dead bodies and 48 injured persons at the scene of the incident suspected to be a terrorist attack.
Atiku, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirant gave his reaction via his Twitter account.
He wrote, ”I received with great concern, news of yet another attack in Borno with scores killed and many injured.
”My prayers and thoughts are with families of the deceased and injured even as I convey my deepest condolences over this needless loss of lives.”
