Nigeria’s former Senate President Bukola Saraki has expressed sadness over the death of Ogun State Senator Buruji Kashamu.

Saraki and Buruji both served in the eighth senate from 2015 to 2019.

Saraki took to his tweeter account to lament the death of his ‘former colleague and friend’ following the announcement of the demise of Buruji on Saturday by Ben Murray-Bruce who is also a former colleague.

The former Senate president in his tweet post described the late Kashamu as “a kind and compassionate man.”

The post read, “ I am devastated to receive the sad news of the passing away of my former colleague and friend, Senator Buruji Kashamu. He was a kind and compassionate man, always ready to make himself available in support of any of his colleagues. With this attitude, he won the hearts of many.”

In the same vein, the former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose also commiserated with the family of the Ogun State billionaire politician who died today.

Fayose, on his tweeter page, wrote “I commiserate with the family of Senator Buruji Kashamu for this irreparable loss and pray for the repose of his soul. The Almighty God will console those he left behind.”
