Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, has ordered the suspension of all Jumat congregations in the state till further notice in a bid to halt the spread of the deadly coronavirus pandemic that has put the world on its knees.

The emir who gave the directive on Monday said the decision was in line with the federal and state governments directives that everyone should stay at home pending the time the country will overcome the deadly disease tagged COVID-19.

In view of this, all Jumat congregations have been suspended untill further notice.

“The Maimartaba sarkin Ilorin and the council of Ulamah has advised all Muslim Ummah in the state to be observing their prayers in their respective houses in line with the Federal and state governments directives that everyone should stay at home pending the time the country will overcome this deadly Coronavirus.”

He prayed for the protection of everyone against the deadly virus.
