The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the recent election in Ogun State, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka has tasked Christians to imbibe the lessons of Easter in order to have a peaceful and progressive society.

In a statement released by his media office, the three-time contestant identified the virtues that Easter preaches as what is needed at this time to stem the tide of insecurity and reclining economic growth in the nation.

The statement, quoting Isiaka, reads in part: “I want to felicitate with all Christians on the occasion of this year’s Easter Celebration. It is a reminder of the ultimate price Jesus paid that further reconciled man to God”.

“The lessons, therefore, are that of love, kindness, compassion and sacrifice. If everyone, irrespective of religious and political affiliation imbibe and exercise these virtues, a lot of the social vices we daily witness will be much diminished”.

Continuing, “The same also applies to those in the position of authority. If leaders are compassionate, sacrifice selflessness and love the people, they will be conscientious enough to do what is equitable, justiciable and fair to the generality of the people”.

Isiaka while wishing the people of Ogun State happy celebrations thanked them for the votes given him in the just concluded election.

He said, “I must again use this medium to thank our people for every vote I got in the election. The show of love before, during and after the election has been most humbling; to which I am most grateful”.

Isiaka who was last week appointed a member of the economic transition council of the Governor-Elect polled 110,422 votes to come third behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidates.
