Eid-Il-Kabir: Olota cancels 2020 Ita Oba event over COVID-19

His Royal Majesty, Olota of Otta, Professor Adeyemi Obalanlege( Lanlege Ekun II ) wishes to inform sons and daughters of Otta, Awori Kingdom, well-wishers, corporate bodies that the annual Ita Oba event will not hold this year due to the current global pandemic.

It is worthy of note that the decision was taken in the best interest of all and sundry in our collective bid in complementing the efforts of the Government in curbing the spread of the deadly Coronavirus.

This is contained in a statement signed by Oba Adeyemi’s personal assistant, Prince Sulaiman Adeyemi Olusesi and made available to newsheadline247 on Monday.

“The increasing cases of Coronavirus in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government and the Country at large is worrisome and disturbing, it is high time we take the responsibility by adhering fully to the guidelines as highlighted by the NCDC and the Government of various levels in curbing the spread of the virus,” the statement read.
