It was glamour and joy on Wednesday, 22nd of December, 2021 at Cathedral Hall of St. Michael’s African Cathedral, Igbo-Olori, Ota as the final of the maiden edition of the Ado-Odo/Ota CAROLATHON competition powered by the TEMITAYO AGEMO-OKUBOYEJO RENAISSANCE PROJECT took place. It is the first of its kind in Nigeria.

The five finalists presented choral offerings in classical, contemporary, original and solo pieces.

The media team of the organisers made this known in a statement sent to newsheadline247 on Friday.

According to the statement, St. Cecilia Choir clinched the first position with a prize award of 250,000 naira. The first runner up was New Covenant Choir with a cash price of 150,000 naira while the Second runner,  Charis Ministry was rewarded with 100,000 naira cash price.

Sammy Kay Band and Bright Marvellous  made fourth and fifth position respectively and were rewarded with a cash prize of 50,000 naira each. It is also worthy of note that the first to third position also clinched a record deal of a song each.

In attendance, to grace, the competition were  Veneral(Dr.) Asoore, the Provost of St. Michael African Cathedral, Igbo-Olori Ota and High Chief Olanrewaju Odutola, the Baale of Akowonwado Ota.

The panel of judges were professional music singers Toosh and Adeseko, as well as Aloore, a music producer.

The MCs of the event, Prince Adegbenro Falohun and Princess Feyikemi Banuso-Lawrence added royal colour and glamour to the event as they made participants and audience to enjoy the programme from the beginning to the end.

It is noteworthy that Mrs Temitayo Agemo-Okuboyejo, the Convener of this lofty Carolathon recently won the ICON of Humanity award of the Ogun State Youth Award for 2021.
