The National Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Betta Edu, might appear to be innocent and committed to her duty of organising the women of the party for the success of the programmes of the ruling party.

It will be recalled that Edu, who hails from Cross Rivers State, was everywhere mobilising the women and supporting the then presidential candidate of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2023 general elections.

However, the latest reports about the medical doctor-turned politician revealed that she is like a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

It was reliably revealed that Edu, a former commissioner for health in Cross Rivers State, has started manifesting some characters that are quite unexpected of someone occupying her office.

The woman, we learned has been able to get some notable leaders at the seat of power (Aso Rock) to her side by organizing some female companions for them especially from her state and other regions of the country.

We were informed that the true character of Edu came into play recently, when the women leaders of the APC across the state paid a visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Abuja, the seat of power.

The APC National Women Leader was alleged to have short-changed the party’s women leaders across the states through the fund made available for their welfare by President Tinubu.

According to sources, President Tinubu made substantial amount available for the hotel accommodation and transportation of the women leaders through Dr. Edu.

But, it was revealed that Edu only gave the women a paltry amount while she pocketed the remaining several millions of naira.

“The woman is a disappointment. Many of the women leaders got far lesser than they bargained for. What many of them spent on transportation and accommodation was far higher than what they got eventually.

“It was later that we discovered that what the woman gave us was not what she was given by the President.

“Not only that, Dr. Edu is too full of herself. She is arrogant, proud and she looks at us with disdain.

She address women old enough to be her mother with disdain. And nobody wants to have anything to do with her. She is so rude and very disrespectful.

‘We know she is scheming to be a minister despite the fact that the former governor of the state who recommended her for her current position, Professor Ben Ayade is also interested in a ministerial office,” said a source.

Those close to the woman said further that it is a matter of time before she is removed from office, adding that “we don’t need someone like her as the National Women Leader of our great party at this time,” a source told us.
