The Gateway Front Foundation (GFF) has commenced activities to mark its 25th anniversary, with its founder, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, rallying local government managers in Ogun State and declaring support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term in 2027.
Senator Daniel, representing Ogun East, held a meeting with GFF local government managers in Sagamu on Sunday as part of preparations for the foundation’s silver jubilee celebrations.
The gathering provided an opportunity to review the foundation’s activities and outline programmes planned to mark 25 years of intervention, empowerment and community-focused initiatives across Ogun State and beyond.
At the meeting, dozens of vehicles were distributed to the GFF local government managers as part of efforts to strengthen the foundation’s grassroots operations and improve coordination of its activities across communities.
The vehicles carried images of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, reflecting the political dimension of the gathering, with Daniel and the GFF structure declaring support for the President’s re-election bid in 2027.
Daniel had previously publicly declared his support for Tinubu’s second-term bid, describing the President’s leadership and economic reforms as reasons for his position. In September 2025, he also unveiled a grassroots mobilisation structure in support of Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid in Sagamu.
However, the GFF@25 programme is also being positioned around a series of humanitarian and empowerment initiatives, with the foundation outlining programmes in healthcare, agriculture, education and small-scale enterprise support.
A major component of the anniversary activities will be a free medical mission in partnership with Sharing Hope Medical Mission from the United States of America. According to the organisers, more than 50 medical doctors are expected to participate in the intervention, which is targeting more than 15,000 patients.
The medical programme is scheduled to hold from October 9 to October 24, 2026, at Redeemer’s Health Village, Mowe, Ogun State, and is expected to include both major and minor surgical procedures.
The organisers said the intervention will cater to patients requiring a range of medical and surgical attention, with beneficiaries expected to undergo assessment and treatment as part of the programme.
The medical mission will also include training for medical personnel, with approved certificates expected to be issued to participants. Organisers said the certification is intended to provide credentials that can be useful to medical professionals seeking opportunities to work abroad.
Preparations for the medical intervention have already commenced, with GFF conducting free medical screening and clinical assessment exercises at different locations in Sagamu. A recent screening exercise covered cases including eye conditions, cataracts, dental problems, tumours, hernias, gynaecological conditions, prostate-related ailments, orthopaedic cases, diabetes and gastroenterological conditions.
Beyond healthcare, the GFF@25 programme will feature an agricultural empowerment scheme aimed at supporting farmers through the distribution of farm inputs and fertilisers. The initiative will also include training designed to improve beneficiaries’ knowledge and capacity in farming.
The foundation is equally planning an education empowerment programme through the distribution of educational materials to students.
Another major component is a microcredit scheme targeting market women and men, with the initiative expected to provide financial support to small-scale traders and other beneficiaries to strengthen their businesses and improve their livelihoods.
The microcredit component builds on GFF’s previous interventions. In 2023, the foundation launched an interest-free microcredit scheme for petty traders and artisans across the nine local government areas of Ogun East Senatorial District, with hundreds of beneficiaries selected in its first phase.
The Gateway Front Foundation, founded by Daniel, has operated for more than two decades with programmes spanning education, healthcare and economic empowerment. Its 25th anniversary therefore provides an opportunity for the organisation to combine commemorative activities with fresh interventions targeted at communities across Ogun State.
The anniversary programme comes at a politically significant period, with the 2027 general elections approaching and Daniel having already made his position on Tinubu’s re-election public.
The Sagamu meeting consequently brought together the foundation’s grassroots managers at a time when GFF is seeking to expand the reach of its humanitarian programmes while maintaining a coordinated presence across local government areas.
With the medical mission expected to commence in October and additional interventions planned for farmers, students and market operators, the GFF@25 anniversary is set to extend beyond ceremonial celebrations into a series of programmes focused on healthcare delivery, empowerment and community support.
