A communication team member of the opposition National Democratic Congress in the Ashanti Region, Kwaku Asafo Adjei is calling for the resignation of President Akufo-Addo even before his required four-year term ends in January 2021 GhanaWeb reports.

According to him, President Akufo-Addo has failed drastically in handling security issues in the country despite being Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Arm Forces.

Speaking on Abusua Nkommo hosted by Kwame Adinkrah, Kwaku Asafo Adjei said President Akufo-Addo must do the needful by quitting his post as President of Ghana.

“President Akufo-Addo is running a parallel security, he doesn’t even care about protecting the police simply because he has given Invincible Forces, Killer Nkoto Babies, Delta Force, Kandahar-Boys power to operate freely hence the killing of Police officers continuously in the country”.

“In 2013 did you ever hear that NDC members had attacked Police officers at any Police station to the extent of freeing NDC suspects put to cells, but what are we seeing now, these unscrupulous NPP party members now have the courage to attack Police Officers and even murder those on duty”.

“Bra Kwame seriously Nana Akufo- Addo as a veteran lawyer is a disgrace to the Ghana Bar Association because he has tolerated these lawless party members for long now they have the audacity under a President who is a lawyer, a President who understands the rule law”.

“Delta Force members attacked a whole court and nothing serious was done to them even after the Chief State Attorney General filed a nolle prosequi to discontinue the case, the prosecutor came out to publicly to tell us that they were on course with investigation and prosecutions but it was the Attorney General who stopped pushing the matter because the Attorney General takes instructions from the President”.

A data analyzed by The Finder recently showed that at least 48 police officers have paid the ultimate price of death in the discharge of their constitutional duties to protect lives and property in Ghana from 2013 to date.

The number of officers killed each year during the period is 2013 – 13; 2014 – 11; 2015 – seven; 2016 – six; 2017 – seven and 2018 – four.
