The Ogun state government through the ministry of Health has made good their promise to set up a COVID-19 VACCINATION point at the Royal palace of the Olota of Ota , Oba (Prof) AdeyemiObalanlege.

Old people waiting for their turn to be vaccinated

 The vaccination exercise kicked off on Monday 7th December and it will last for a week to end on the 14th of December in commemoration of the 2021 odun Omo Iganmode festival, the Awori most glamorous cultural festival.

Erelu Kafayat Adeola Orisile, chairman Media and Publicity committee of the 2021 edition of the fiesta made this known on Tuesday in a statement made available to the media.

Orisile said the vaccination exercise currently taking place at the Isiyemi hall inside the palace of Olota of Otta will be on for a week.

According to the statement, the exercise started at exactly 10am when the Vice Chairman of the event central planning committee Erelu Adenike Akindele-Eleku delivered the welcome address.

Akindele-Eleku stated reasons why the opportunity was brought to our doorstep at Olota’s royal Palace.

She urged the people of Otta and environs to seize the moment and get vaccinated in line with the Ogun state government’s directive on COVID 19 preventive measures.

Similarly, Aaare Dele Bankole, chairman of the festival committee, equally thanked the Ogun state government, staff of the ministry of health and the people for their efforts to forestall any incidence of COVID 19.

The vaccination exercise signals the beginning of the week long 2021 Odun Omo Iganmode festival which will hold on the 13th to the 19th of December 2021, the statement said.

The vaccination is gaining momentum as over 150 people have been vaccinated as at press time . All is geared towards a successful hosting of the Iganmode festival tagged, Culture: A module for sustainable Leadership in Nigeria.
