Emerging details have revealed that preparations were being concluded for the inauguration of Senator Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke as the sixth civilian governor of Osun State today, Sunday, November 27, 2022.

Adeleke will be sworn into office by the Osun Chief Judge, Justice Adepele Ojo in the epoch-making swearing-in ceremony of the governor and his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi at the Osogbo Township Stadium in the state capital this morning.

National leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) nationwide including the presidential candidate of the party, Atiku Abubakar, his running mate Ifeanyi Okowa, the national chairman of the party Iyorchia Ayu and governors are also expected to grace the ceremony.

Also expected at the event are traditional rulers, religious leaders, captains of industries, scholars, artists, civil society organisations, community leaders and residents of Osun.

The Osogbo Township Stadium, venue of the event has already worn a new look while necessary partitioning have been made to distinguish personalities.

During the week, heads of security agencies visited the venue to strategies on security issues, while the state commissioner of police Faleye Olaleye has assured the teeming public of adequate security and hitch free inauguration.

Speaking about the inauguration, former Chairman, Obokun local government Hon Mayowa Adejorin and stalwart of PDP in Osun assured the people of Osun of an administration that would deliver a dividend of democracy to the people of the state.

Adejorin noted that though in the face of paucity of funds, the expectations of the people of Osun is high, the administration of Senator Ademola Adeleke will not let them down.

Senator Ademola Adeleke, of Adeleke dynasty hails from Ede in Osun West Senatorial District of Osun State. He is the second of his siblings to become governor of the state with late Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke being the first and indeed the first civilian governor of the state.

He was declared elected by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) having defeated the incumbent, Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and others at the July 16, 2022, Osun governor election.

Already, Ede the hometown of the incoming governor is agog with residents already celebrating the emergence of one of their own as governor of Osun.
