On Monday night, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume stated that the President was committed to a national minimum wage set above ₦60,000.
Akume also mentioned that the tripartite committee would meet daily for the next week to reach an agreement on the national minimum wage.
This decision came after the Organised Labour, out of respect for the President, agreed to promptly convene a meeting of its organs to consider the President’s commitment.
The strike had affected businesses, airports, universities, hospitals, and power supply, as Labour demanded a new minimum wage.
