Lagos Govt Presents Cheques to 79 Oworo Property Owners Affected by Urban Regeneration

The Lagos State Government (LASG) has presented compensation cheques to 79 residents of the Oworo community whose properties were removed as part of the state’s urban regeneration and renewal programme.

The move marks another milestone in Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to ensuring that development projects across Lagos are carried out with fairness, transparency, and human consideration.

Officials from the state government handed over the cheques to the affected property owners in a brief but significant ceremony attended by community leaders and representatives of the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.

The beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the government’s gesture, describing it as a welcome relief after the removal of their structures to pave the way for urban renewal in the area.

“We are grateful to Governor Sanwo-Olu and the Lagos State Government for fulfilling their promise. This support means a lot to us, and we will continue to cooperate with the government in its development plans,” one of the beneficiaries said.
