A recently installed Lagos monarch, Alhaji Buhari Oloto has been announced dead.

The late Oloto, a popular Lagos-based socialite, was installed as the Oba of Iguruland, Aguda, Surulere, Lagos last September.

Oba Oloto who died at age 80 was popularly known as Buhari Oloto and later called Abu Oloto.


He had been a popular figure in the Lagos social scene since the late 70s.

Hakeem Bamgbola, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Vice Chairman (Lagos Central), reportedly confirmed his death.

According to reports, the monarch died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja.
