Prince Laja Adeoye, a prominent aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, has weighed in on the recent endorsements of Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Adeoye described the endorsements as part of the APC’s internal political maneuvering, emphasizing that the focus should shift toward addressing the pressing needs of Lagosians. He called for a governance approach centered on service delivery, accountability, and tackling the state’s core challenges, including traffic congestion, flooding, inadequate housing, healthcare, and the escalating cost of living.
Adeoye, a vocal figure in the opposition, stressed the importance of greater inclusivity and responsiveness in governance. He urged political leaders to direct their efforts toward policies that would improve infrastructure, enhance social services, and foster a better quality of life for all residents.
In conclusion, Adeoye advocated for political competition to be grounded in ideas and strategies that would foster the long-term development of Lagos, rather than personal political alignments.
