Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has reportedly died at the age of 66 after battling cancer.
The respected Yoruba actor reportedly passed away on Sunday following his prolonged struggle with the illness.
A video circulating on social media showed his daughter, Kira Taiwo, mourning her father as she announced his death.
In the emotional video, Kira was seen in tears while repeatedly saying, “My daddy is dead.”
The reported death comes just days after Kira and her sister, Haleemah, disclosed that their father had been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer.
The sisters had appealed for public support as the family explored treatment options for the veteran actor.
Ogogo was one of the notable figures in Nigeria’s film industry, particularly in Yoruba-language movies, where he built a reputation through decades of acting and stage performances.
His reported death is expected to trigger an outpouring of tributes from colleagues, fans and other stakeholders in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
