Inside the Christmas Day Airstrikes That Wiped Out Boko Haram Commanders in Borno
Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, backed by Nigerian Army ground forces and Nigerian Air Force (NAF) air assets, have successfully neutralised several high-profile Boko Haram commanders during coordinated air operations in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.
Security sources revealed that the precision airstrikes were carried out on December 25, 2025, following credible and actionable human intelligence on the movement and congregation of terrorists in the area.
According to the sources, the initial strike dealt a devastating blow to the terror group, killing no fewer than 10 Boko Haram fighters, many of whom were identified as key operational figures within the insurgent network.
Those neutralised were named as Abul Kaka, Ibn Mu’azu, Abu Muhammad, Ba Alhaji, Bakura, Modu, Abu Hassan, Kaka Alai, Abba Yakariye, and Bamusa.
Another senior terrorist, Ubaida, was reportedly severely injured during the operation and is believed to be in critical condition.
The sources further disclosed that a follow-up strike by Nigerian Air Force platforms shortly after the first operation resulted in the instant elimination of three additional terrorists, further degrading Boko Haram’s operational capacity in the axis.
Military authorities say the strikes form part of sustained efforts to dismantle terrorist leadership structures, disrupt insurgent logistics, and restore lasting security across the North-East. Read More
