This gesture of congratulation from Chief Abayomi Tella exemplifies his sportsmanlike spirit and sets a positive precedent for collaborative efforts and underscores the importance of unity in service to the people.

In a significant display of sportsmanship, Chief Abayomi Tella, a candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 Ogun State House of Assembly election, has graciously congratulated his opponent and close friend, Hon. Lamidi Musefiu Olatunji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on his victory at the Appeal Court.

The verdict from the Court of Appeal, today, upheld Olatunji’s election victory, affirming his position as the honorable member of the Ogun State House of Assembly representing the Ado-Odo/Igbesa State Constituency.

It is worth recalling that Tella and Lamidi engaged in a fiercely contested election, which marked one of the closest races in the history of elections in the Ado-Odo/Otta local government area. Ultimately, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Olatunji as the winner of the contest.

Not content with the INEC decision, Tella pursued his case before the Election Petitions Tribunal and subsequently the Court of Appeal, which serves as the final arbitration body for State House of Assembly electoral disputes. Despite his efforts, the tribunal maintained the initial decision by INEC.

In a statement personally signed and sent to newsheadline247, Tella extended his heartfelt congratulations to Olatunji upon the judgment and urged the people of the constituency to extend their unwavering support to Olatunji as their representative. Additionally, Tella also appealed to Olatunji to strive towards improving the quality of representation for the betterment of the people of Ado-Odo/Igbesa.

This gesture of congratulation from Chief Abayomi Tella exemplifies his sportsmanlike spirit and commitment to the well-being of the constituency. It sets a positive precedent for collaborative efforts and underscores the importance of unity in service to the people.

RE: ADO/IGBESA STATE CONSTITUENCY ELECTION 2023.

Dear Constituents,

In the bid to serve my people, I offered myself for service and we vigorously campaigned and the people of Ado/Igbesa voted enmasse for us but for whatever reasons the election goes the other way and Hon Musefiu Lamidi Olatunji was declared winner by INEC.

Dissatisfied with the INEC decision and in line with the democratic process I approached the Election Petitions Tribunal and the Appeal court which is the final habitat for determining the House of Assembly elections and today 28th November 2023, the court upheld the decision of INEC.

As a democrat I hereby CONGRATULATE Hon Musefiu Lamidi, and enjoined our people to give him the necessary support to succeed as our representative at the Ogun State House of Assembly,  while I also plead with Hon Musefiu to improve on the quality of representation for the betterment of the Ado/Igbesa people.

Once again to Hon Musefiu, I say Congratulations and wish you the best.

E- Signed Rotn.
(Hon) Abayomi Tella
