As part of the activities marking the much awaited 2018 Iganmode Carnival, the Olota of Otta Oba (Prof) Adeyemi Obalanlege will kick off the 2018 Iganmode football tournament at the St Micheal Primary School playground on Sunday 4th of November 2018.

According to the organisers, the opening ceremony of the soccer event will be marked with cultural display amongst other activities.

The 2018 Iganmode Carnival was initiated by the Olota of Otta with the theme ‘ A new dawn, a new beginning’ in addition with one billion naira poverty eradication foundation tagged Olota FECODEIN.

The main event for the 2018 Iganmode Carnival kicks off on the 16th of December with the grand finale slated for the 22nd of December 2018.

The football tournament was package by Potential Sports Organization in conjunction with the Central working committee of the 2018 Iganmode Carnival.


According to Engr. Abiodun Abiola, the Vice Chairman of the 2018 Iganmode Carnival football Committee, the tournament has been planned to be a six-week event with teams from all parts of Awori towns both in Ogun and Lagos state.

Abiola added that the tournament, being an integral part of the 2018 Iganmode Carnival was aimed at strengthening the bond of the Awori race all over the world.

“The soccer event of this year’s carnival will strengthen our (Awori) bond and of course promote peace among the Aworis all over the world,” Abiola stated.

He further said that the final match of the tournament will be played on the 21st of December 2018, the eve of the grand finale of the 2018 Iganmode Carnival.
