The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has called on Nigerians to remain patient and continue supporting government efforts aimed at addressing the country’s security and economic challenges.

In a Democracy Day message issued on Friday through the Director of Media and Public Affairs at the Ooni’s Palace, Moses Olafare, the revered monarch stressed the need for collective commitment to national progress and stability.

The Ooni stated that no responsible government would intentionally allow insecurity to thrive within its territory, noting that the protection of lives and property remains essential for sustainable growth and development.

He acknowledged the security challenges confronting several parts of the country and urged governments at all levels to strengthen security architecture, enhance intelligence gathering, adequately equip security agencies and ensure that criminals are brought to justice.

“Democracy thrives best in an atmosphere of peace, security and justice. As we celebrate another Democracy Day, I urge our governments to do more in the fight against insecurity and banditry. The protection of lives and property must remain a top priority,” he said.
