Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi on Monday took Temitope Adesegun as his sixth wife in a series of recent multiple marriages by the revered monarch.

The marital rites were performed at a ceremony in Magodo, Lagos.

With the fulfilment of marital rites, Olori Temitope officially becomes the sixth wife of the Ooni of Ife in barely two months.

Olori Temitope is a princess from the Adesegun Ibipe Royal Dynasty of Ago-Iwoye in Ijebu North Local Government Area, Ogun state.

The monarch’s new wife is well-read, bagging Diplomas in Linguistics and Data Processing from the University of Lagos in 1998 and 2000 and a bachelor’s in Business Administration from the same university.

The new Olori is a certified alumnus of several universities, including the University of Oxford, United Kingdom; INSEAD Business School, Fontainebleau, France; University of Cambridge, Judge Business School, United Kingdom; and Harvard Kennedy School of Government in the United States.

Queen Temitopewas a presenter of a television programme, ‘Health-Wise’ which aired for four years. Health-Wise was a Public Health Advocacy Programme of the Lagos State Ministry of Health under the administration of Babatunde Fasola.

She has worked as the Personal Assistant to the late Secretary to the State Government, Princess Aderenle Adeniran-Ogunsanya.

Temitope Adesegun, is also the CEO of Hopes Alive Initiatives (HAI), a non-governmental organisation launched by the Ooni of Ife in October 2017; a social advocacy intervention to alleviate social, cultural and environmental issues of reducing the impact of poverty among the most vulnerable.
