Personnel of the Oduduwa Peoples Congress (OPC), have apprehended a notorious Fulani arrowhead, Iskilu Wakili, said to be terrorising residents of Ibarapa and Oke-Ogun zones in Oyo State, according to Oyo Affairs.
The news platform reported that Wakili was arrested in the forest Sunday morning after a confrontation with the vigilantes led by the OPC force.
He was later handed over to the State Police in Aiyete for interrogation and investigation, the medium said.
Group leader Adedeji Oluwole told reporters that when the OPC members got to the forest where Wakili and his cohorts reside, they were attacked with arms but came out unhurt, leading to the arrest of Wakili and three aides.
Wakili, however, denied attacking men of OPC though one of his aides accepted owning firearms.
In the heat of the Herdsmen-Farmers tension in Ibarapaland, Wakili was reported to have challenged Yoruba rights activist, Sunday Adeyemo popularly address as Sunday Igboho, to a gun battle after the latter illegally gave an ultimatum to Fulanis in the area to vacate.
State police spokesperson Olugbenga Fadeyi is yet to make an official statement on the development.
