The moviegoing experience took on new meaning in 2020, when it just involved shifting to a different side of the couch, but the films that made us laugh, cry and sometimes rage still cut through the fog, reports NY Daily News.

“Mank” led the pack with 10 nominations, including best picture, actor in a leading role for Gary Oldman and actress in a supporting role for Amanda Seyfried, while Daniel Kaluuya and Lakeith Stanfield were both nominated for actor in a supporting role for “Judas and the Black Messiah,” which also earned a best picture nomination.

Chadwick Boseman earned a posthumous best actor nomination for “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” and Andra Day will look to repeat her surprise Golden Globe win for best actress for her role in “The United States vs. Billie Holiday.”

The Oscars will be held on April 25, the latest date in their history. The show will be split between Los Angeles’ Union Station and the Dolby Theater.
