Over 1.5M Candidates Fall Below 200 Mark in 2025 JAMB UTME
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has published a detailed statistical analysis of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results, shedding light on the performance of candidates nationwide.
Of the 1,955,069 candidates who participated in the 2025 UTME, more than 1.5 million scored below 200, according to JAMB’s data. However, a smaller group excelled, with 4,756 candidates achieving scores above 320 and 7,658 scoring between 300 and 319.
JAMB also highlighted the participation of 40,247 underage candidates, who were given the opportunity to showcase their abilities.
Of these, only 467 (1.16%) met the UTME’s threshold for exceptional performance, with their results in the next three evaluation stages still pending.
